Five shipping service enterprise officials arrested

Five higher officials of the Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise (ESLCE) arrested on corruption charges.
The five suspects are shipping service deputy CEO of corporate service sector, Sied Abaferda, deputy CEO of port and terminal sector, Desalegn Gebrehiwot Tefera, head of planning and business development, Siraj Abdulahi, finance head, Samuel Melaku and deputy CEO of shipping service sector, Alemu Ambaye.
The arrest is said to be part of the corruption crackdown that began on early august and this came two weeks after ESLCE held its annual meeting in Adama town. The management staff, CEO and deputies, as well as branch managers of the enterprise discussed and evaluated the 2016/17 operational, capital, performance of the past year.
