Ethiopia denies suspending the licence of the Reuters news agency

Ethiopia has denied reports it had suspended the licence of the Reuters news agency. Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority Director Getachew Dinku told VOA Amharic that the Authority did not revoke the licence of Reuters Addis Ababa correspondent’s Giulia Paravicini, contradicting his deputy Wondwosen Andualem who had told Sheger radio on record earlier in the day that her license had been suspended.

Getachew said they had only called for a discussion with the correspondent who travelled to the conflict zone without a permit. He said they told the journalist that they would complain to Reuter’s East Africa service in Nairobi when she failed to appear for a scheduled meeting.

  1. 1. Five days ago Aaron Maasho was giving interviews to BBC radio as spokesperson for “gov established independent human rights commission!” A lie of course. He has always worked for Tplf! And BBC was had by a scoundrel.
    2. Alex DeWaal at Tufts U World Peace Forum is once again deceiving the world by making claims that Tplf is in the right! Or at least not the instigator! He has Tplf members (Mulugeta Gebrehiwot, etc) working at Tufts as ‘experts’ on the Horn region! In other words, he is abusing the resources of a highly regarded institution to advance a violent group’s cause and his romantic ideas. Fyi, Alex is the founding member of Meles Zenawi Foundation. He once called Meles “a non-corrupt leader!” Can you imagine that. And yet Meles’ wife Azeb is known as the “queen of all corruption!” Only Meles must have not know that!
    3. Mehari Taddele Maru, another Tplf, is in Europe making up no-evidence stories.
Tplf had planned such events ahead of time. Ethiopian scholars have to counter such disinformation with evidence so the world community would be educated.
Let me say this. Those individuals have every right to say or write what they wish. But they have no right to manufacture their own facts.
