The United States has never encouraged the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) to expand its military operations in order to topple the Abiy Ahmed administration or enter the capital, the State Department said.
The State Department was responding to remarks made by the TPLF spokesman Getachew Reda during an interview with Tigray Television last week. “It is hard to know what the American stance is. Sometimes the Americans threaten to put sanctions and put pressure on both of us to bring us to negotiations. At other times, they would say if the TPLF enters Addis Ababa, there would be bloodbath. They would also tell us, if we enter Addis Ababa, it is better for us to foster a broad coalition and bring other parties together,” Getachew said speaking in Tigrinya language.
Approached by the VOA Amharic to react to Getachew’s remark, a spokesperson of the US State Department said: “the United States has never encouraged the TPLF in any way to expand its military operations or try to enter Addis Ababa . We have repeatedly made clear to all parties — both publicly and privately — the United States position that there is no military solution to the conflict in Ethiopia,” according to the VOA.
“As Special Envoy Feltman stated on November 23, we want to see a TPLF withdrawal and an end to the de facto humanitarian siege of Tigray,” the Department said. “Our goal is to support diplomacy as the first, last, and only option to cease hostilities; end human rights abuses and violations; engage in negotiations without preconditions; allow and facilitate unhindered humanitarian access; and start an inclusive national dialogue” the statement added.
Baloney! No one should even accuse the St. Dept of such crimes. Have the US ever involved itself in illegal terrorism of sovereign nations such as by instigating unrest or by effecting soft and or violent coups? When that didn’t work out, have the US ever invaded sovereign nations outside of UN mandate? It’s like asking Timothy McVeigh if he ever pickpocketed in order to determine his innocence. #NoMore
Let us not forget that the US is merely trying to help Ethiopia on humanitarian aid! When in fact, it is ultimate goal is to destroy permanently like it did to Haitian a century ago, when it won the war bare fist against Naploean Bonaparte. This is a historical fact every good Ethiopian should know about. The last twenty seven years under the barbaric

It is credible that the US could have encouraged the ‘bututu. tplf to once more enter Addis as it did in 1983 EC. Mengistu should never have left and instead should have fought like Theodros. He left us to the vagaries and cruelty of this satanic force (which is still around, for heaven’s sake)
If Us is not supporting TPLF, why:
1. it failed to call TPLF a Terrorist as it was designated by parliament of a sovereign Ethiopia?
2. they denied TPLF’s brutal attack of ENDF Northern commanded was the immediate cause for the continued fighting, which initially the Trump had acknowledged?
3. it called UNSC 14 times, I repeat, 14 times and tried to impose UN sanction Eth gov’t, and is still continuing?
4. it kept quiet every time TPLF advanced in the battle front and put Eth on the rope?
5. is still insisting the withdrawal of its citizens from Eth despite TPLF forces have been dealt with and is at the brink of its collapse?
countless justifications could be raised!!!
For Ethiopians, now it has became crystal clear that USA has never been, is never and will never be a friend of Ethiopia!!!
Note that:
USA denied to deliver weapons Eth has paid for twice – during Italian Aggression of 1936 by siding with colonizers; in 1976 when Somalia invaded us.
Now we understand that US is working hard to disintegrate, weaken it at best, Ethiopia in support of its selfish & insincere ally Egypt.
Despite this all adds, Ethiopia will prevail!!!
