An investment forum focused on Ethiopia will be held in Paris on November 3, bringing together Ethiopian Finance Minister Ahmed Shide, Foreign Minister Gedion Timotheos, and Brook Taye, chief executive of Ethiopian Investment Holdings.
The delegation will also include Ethiopian Airlines Chief Executive Mesfin Tasew.
The event, organised by France’s Medef business lobby in partnership with the European Commission, will bring together more than 100 representatives from European companies, development finance institutions, and Ethiopian public and private sector leaders.
The forum aims to promote investment in four priority sectors — the Bishoftu airport project; transport, logistics, and infrastructure; digital technologies, including artificial intelligence and telecommunications; and renewable energy — as part of efforts to deepen economic ties between Ethiopia and Europe, according to a statement published on Medef’s website.
Medef said the conference aims to reinvigorate economic ties between Europe and Ethiopia, boost business exchanges, and lay the groundwork for the EU–Ethiopia Conference scheduled to take place in Addis Ababa at the end of April 2026.
Federico Bulato, Africa Director at Airbus, will attend the forum. Ethiopian Airlines received the continent’s first Airbus A350-1000 in November 2024. The airline, often cited as an African success story, has reinforced its partnership with Airbus through a seven-year comprehensive maintenance contract for its A350 fleet.
Brook Taye, CEO of Ethiopian Investment Holdings, will deliver a keynote speech on investment opportunities in Ethiopia for European investors. A roundtable on transport, logistics, and infrastructure will feature Louis David, East and Southern Africa Director at Systra; Dr. Fiseha Yitagesu, CEO of the Industrial Park Development Corporation; and Haim Konforti, Ethiopia Director at Africa Global Logistics.
