Eritrean soldiers have reportedly entered Adigrat, Deutsthe Welle Amharic reported, citing sources. DW said that military convoys carrying Eritrean soldiers are heading in the direction of Mekele. While Ethiopian federal forces have entered Mekele, Adigrat remains under the control of the TPLF, according to the DW.

In a statement posted on X, Eritrea’s Information Minister Yemane Meskel did not deny explicitly deny reports that Eritrean troops had crossed the border, but said Ethiopia’s government was creating “a fallacious narrative of ‘self-defense’ to rationalise and camouflage its war of aggression”.
